Nothing quite prepares you for Caligula. Pornography isn't meant to be painted on such a huge canvas, but somehow the sight of classically trained English thesps rubbing up against titular Penthouse pets in an orgy of carnal violence and hardcore leaves dumbfounded and powerless to resist.
Shot on vast soundstages with an epically big and mainly nude cast, Caligula is a unique cinematic experience for the broadminded (in the 70s swinging sense) and a riot of offense for everyone else.
