Review of Caligula (1979) by Robert B — 11 Oct 2007
A borderline porno, it often has potential to portray the true complexities to Caligula's character and insanity, but often comes off a smut. The best scenes are with Tiberius and Nerva to highlight how even the best of men can degenerate into vice when power corrupts, and the later scenes when Caligula has seen the slums of Rome.
No historical value, but worth seeing if want to kill two hours or have a taste for controversial cinema.
