This is not a good movie. But I feel it's worth seeing, there is alot that you can take from this film. You can still see the remnants of what was potentially a Great film, however they are buried in unnecessary pornography and gratuitous violence.
The movie is a complete mess, and it shows. The actors really did a great job with this film, and had Gore Vidal been allowed to maintain control and had Tinto Brass been allowed to pursue his own vision of what this should have been, it would have been brilliant.
Malcolm McDowell is brilliant as Caligula, shame that the movie is a joke.
