Review of California Split (1974) by Paul D — 22 Jun 2008
One of Altman's best; great performances by Segal and (especially) Gould. Not so much about gambling as about the self-destructive quality of most of American culture-it's very prescient in this regard.
Hopefully the film will show up on a DVD with its original soundtrack intact one day- don't let that dissuade you from seeing it now, though.
