Review of Calendar Girls (2003) by Jonathan B — 24 Sep 2011
A fictionalised account of the Yorkshire Women's Institute group who created a phenomenally successful topless calendar in order to raise money for charity.
There's a great cast and few laughs in this fairly run-of-the-mill feel good movie that doesn't really try hard enough. Your mum will love it and the scenery looks nice but it is a bit formulaic and the characters one dimensional making for a largely forgettable viewing experience.
