Review of Cake (2014) by Adam C — 24 Jan 2015

I thought this was an excellent film. Jennifer Aniston did a great job of portraying someone experiencing chronic pain. As someone who lives it with myself, I can relate clearly to what she portraying and her desperation.

I noticed that some people think the movie takes an odd turn but I think it was simply a turn where Claire began to show some healing and growth. Nina was a vehicle or metaphor through which she showed her struggle and growth.

Claire's journey is complex and difficult to discuss without spoiling the movie but I can say that Jennifer Aniston's portrayal had me in tears.
