Review of Cake (2014) by Tiffany S — 19 Jul 2015
Jennifer Anniston does her best Maura Tierney. That is, she portrays a character with substance - somebody who is deeply flawed, yet sympathetic. Never thought I'd be so impressed by Anniston who, for all I know, just never got this good of a part.
Her story unravels gradually and is heartbreaking. I suppose that's why one critic called it "Lifetime." That's code for "Chick Flick." Sorry, guys. Maybe next time she'll be cast as a race car driver.
In space. With super powers. And a bikini.
