Review of Café Society (2016) by Alejandra G — 17 Dec 2016
First of all I think that Jesse Einseberg makes a great heir to the "Woddy Allen" character, a lot more than Owen Wilson anyway. The territory of this film is familiar: NY vs LA, religion and a love triangle.
There are some great lines and moments but overall it felt somewhat less deep or interesting than other Allen movies. I always wonder if I judge Allen's work too much in comparison to his own work.
Is that a good or a bad thing? Anyway, it's worth the watch.
