Review of Café Society (2016) by John C — 29 Jul 2016
A feeble sounding Woody as narrator is the only distraction to be found in Cafe Society. It has a strong cast and is the most beautifully shot movie of this year. A good deal of laugh out loud lines along with sumptuous sets and dazzling costumes hides the fact there is barely a narrative.
Eisenberg channels the New York neuroses of Allen with vigor and once again Stewart proves that Twilight was an aberration. More Parker Posey please! (7-30-16).
