This movie could have been amazing however I think that too many stories were trying to be told at the same time. The interweaving of the characters lives was poorly done. The camera work editing and make-up were horrible.

Especially the aging make-up for Little Walter(Columbus Short). Also the dialogue used the F word every 5 minutes. I am not sure what that's about. I now blues singers had dirty mouths and Etta James was raunchy and sassy, but the cursing was a bit much.

Beyonce surprised the hell out of me with an amazing performance. She finally acted.
