Review of Cadillac Records (2008) by Prasad P — 29 Apr 2009
Everything just brushes by you too fast and in no concrete form in this true story of pioneering 50's record producer Leonard Chess. We do get to meet some very interesting people from the pre-rock n' roll era - Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Little Walter, Etta James - but what we're given are but a few passing glimpses.
It's a shame, because none of the storylines really develop and we do not get to know enough about the era and its confluences. We just see a hazy, foggy portrait pass us by all too quickly - to a great soundtrack!
