Review of Cadillac Records (2008) by Jason F — 03 May 2009

This was a very ambitious film that I found a bit disappointing. Perhaps it would have been better made into some sort of HBO original series? Adrien Brody and Jeffrey Wright were great and I enjoyed Mos Def as Chuck Berry.

I disliked Cedric's voice-over narration as Willie Dixon, however. Beyonce was okay, but not nomination-worthy like Diana Ross in Lady Sings the Blues. I did appreciate the effort to bring the story of Chess Records to the big screen.
