Review of Cadillac Records (2008) by Michael S — 11 May 2009
This was a great movie following the founding of Chess Records, which had a profound impact on rock and roll music. Adrien Brody plays Leonard Chess, founder of the label, who produced what was then called "Race Records".
He and his musicians integrated race records into mainstream popular music, with artists such as Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and Etta James, played wonderfully by Beyonce Knowles. Not only did It have some great music, it had terrific acting and was somewhat overlooked when it was released.
It is definitely worth seeing.
