It's nice to finally see a visual representation of this music that I have loved since I was little, though on a whole the film was not impressive. Solid performances all around, but somehow I still wanted more.

I found myself wondering where Chuck Berry and Etta James were for the bulk of the movie, as Mos Def and Beyonce were all over the campaigns and commercials... but alas, we only got to see them for a little while.

Jeffrey Wright is awesome in everything he's in, so it was a pleasure to watch him as Muddy Waters. This could have been amazing - but it just wasn't.
