Spanning from the 1940's to the late 1960's, the movie is a good review of the rise of Leonard Chess and Chess Records that gave us Muddy Waters, Little Walter, CHuck Berry and Etta James. The musical performances are the reason to watch and Beyonce (one of the film 's Executive Producers) is fantastic as Etta James.
