Review of Cadillac Records (2008) by Ana B — 22 Nov 2010
Ok biographical movie about the violent and convulsed lives of the owner and the musicians of Chess Records of Chicago. Leonard Chess was a pioneer musically and also socially; he open the door to black performers and at that time -50's and 60's- that wasn't a popular choice. Black and white population lived segregated and black people were'nt given a fair chance neither in life nor in music.
There isn't really a leading role, the movie follows the endevours of such a large number of musicians that at the end it all feels a little bit confusing but the story (or should I say History?) and the music make it worth it.
