Review of Cadillac Records (2008) by Thebrownhornet J — 03 May 2009

The only, and I say ONLY reason that I did not give this movie 5 stars is because Beyonce Knowles is in it. Damn. Otherwise this film would have been the best. Jeffrey Wright and Mos Def did excellently and Muddy Waters and Chuck Berry, as expected. However, the real surprise was Columbus Short as Little Walter. I mean, yeah, he can dance. I saw 'Stomp The Yard'. But his *ss can act too! He was really good! And the music! Black people, never again say that rock 'n roll is white music. Watch the movie, and it is very clear who originated it.

Now on to Mrs. Knowles. Oh my. Now to give her credit, she wasn't as bad as I thought she would be, but she still can't act. And even when singing, she doesn't have the power that Ms. Etta James has. I kept waiting for her to bust it out, but it never happened. *Sigh* Beyonce, get back on stage, shake that *ss, pop that c**chie and perform. That's what you're good at. YOU ARE NOT AN ACTRESS!! Someone needs to sit Beyonce and Madonna down and give them some injections of reality juice, because they are not seeing it. Money can buy alot of things.... people, radio play, awards.... but it can't buy TALENT. A singer you are, madam, but not an actress. Hang it up and give yo' husband some babies, LOL!
