Review of Cadillac Records (2008) by Pam R — 12 Feb 2009
This film was pretty good despite some of it's minor flaws. I absolutely loved the music! But what struck me the most was that the film delved into the trials and tribulations of black musicians in an era of racism and discrimination.
I was actually surprised by Beyonce Knowles' performance, but Jeffery Wright was the real star. As for the flaws; the film felt a bit disjointed in some parts, and I think they spent too much time on Etta James and not enough on the other characters, like Howlin' Wolf.
However, It was a film that most will enjoy and appreciate if not for the music alone.
