Review of Cadillac Man (1990) by Johnny T — 23 Aug 2014
The movie is an anomaly - a friendly gloss on Dog Day Afternoon. If you are looking for a passable time-filler then this film has enough comedy and good moments to make it worth it, but it's nothing more than that. Williams is energetic as always and it's interesting to see him juggle both a comedy and drama here. It is also worth catching just to see Robbins in his breakout role. Cadillac Man is just bizarre enough to keep you interested. It occasionally gets a laugh from Williams and Robbins, but the material could have been played with sharper timing. This is a simple, enjoyable, predictable, lovely, funny movie...
VERDICT: "In The Zone" - [Mixed Reaction] These kinds of movies are usually movies that had some good things, but some bad things kept it from being amazing. This rating says buy an ex-rental or a cheap price of the DVD to own. If you consider cinema, ask for people's opinion on the film. (Films that are rated 2.5 or 3 stars).
