Review of Caddyshack (1980) by Chad D — 25 Mar 2012
Caddyshacky is a classic '80s comedy that hasn't held up very well. Directed by Harold Ramis, the film follows the shenanigans at a private golf course and its eccentric club members. Featuring the comedic talents of Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Rodney Dangerfield, there's a lot of fun to be had here.
But the story's too erratic to follow and does nothing to develop the characters. In typical '80s style, the film tries to do too much with too little a story to support it. Caddyshack has a lot of laughs but isn't very satisfying in the end.
