Review of Caché (2005) by Sam S — 12 Apr 2008
A unique psychological thriller, that leaves the thrills up to the audience's intellect.
Sure it's a bit on the slow side in many instances with particular scenes that didn't really need to last as long as they do. The film also doesn't really keep the audience on the edge,' which is intended, but it caused me to feel disconnected at times with the piece, when the film would speed up for a quick moment, then drag on very slow...Kubrick did this as well, but managed to keep the audience worried to see what is next, by keeping the 'calm to intense' frequencies consistent or at least rhythmic...
All said, it's a very unique, intelligent, intriguing, and most importantly poignant watch.
