Review of Caché (2005) by Frankie A — 17 May 2008
Movie went from 4 stars to 3 in the last 2 minutes with a "cop-out" ending. Auteil plays a nasty piece of work - a selfish, emotionally constipated yuppie without concern for anyone but himself and most of all the status quo of his life, which breaks apart regardless, as a result of getting mystery videotapes of his life suggesting he is being stalked.
Juliette Binoche plays the bewildered wife who challenges her stupid husband's behavior and stories, and gets at the truth regardless. She is very good as the working Mom who tries to hold it all together in spite of her husband's secrecy.
Binoche looks pretty although she is cast as a dowdy housewife.
