Review of Caché (2005) by Jake U — 25 May 2008
This is a challenging film that requires patience & attention, but is ultimately rewarding for those who willing to focus. Contrary many reviews and advertisements, this film is not a thriller, but a postmodern meditation on guilt and generational responsibility.
The point of the film is not who sent the tapes, but why and what it reveals about our collective histories, and ourselves. Very French, very intellectual, but very good.
