Review of Caché (2005) by Kat S — 04 Oct 2008
Apart from an intriguing 20-minute spell midway through, I found this to be, in all honesty, quite boring. Billed as a thriller, it's amongst the most unthrilling films I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong - I understand drama and tension, but there was little here to actually find engaging.
I understand this is supposed to be a social commentary and a throught-provoking film, but unfortunately for me, the brooding direction left me not caring much for the characters, and the only thoughts it really conjured up were whether I should have steak or pasta for dinner. Bitterly disappointing.
