Review of Caché (2005) by Ethan K — 16 Nov 2008
Haneke was attempting to make a movie in which "the audience enter the story too late and leave too soon." Now you may think that is a dumb idea. But if you have spent any amount of time watching "Lost" you know the best mysteries are the ones that remain unsolved.
Turns out that's how our understanding of this world was shaped as well. We may have picked up some pieces of information along the way, but we hardly know anything at all. Since nearly all movies offers the audience a false sense of omniscience, this is merely a refreshing break from the norm.
I, for one, would not demand my money back.
