Review of Caché (2005) by Sarah C — 27 Nov 2008
I have to say that I wanted to turn this movie off even before the ten minute mark. The first few minutes are achingly boring, and precisely foreshadow the experience to come. What I assume are supposed to be suspenseful moments drag on and on once you realize that you're not going to see anything shocking.
The only exciting bits were the beheading of the chicken and the suicide, each lasting only mere seconds. The only reason one might find to watch this film until the bitter end is to discover the identity of the antagonist.
But, alas, we the viewers aren't given this one piece of vital information that might validate our wasting of two hours. The end, which I assume is supposed to be an exciting cliffhanger, falls extremely short, leaving the viewer simply annoyed.
