Review of Caché (2005) by Daisy M — 26 Jun 2009
Michael Haneke's story about a family being watched, CACHE. The idea is pretty creepy as Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche have videos dropped on their doorstep showing the almost total actions occurring right outside their front door. This puts quite pressure on their already passionless relationship.
The joy of this suspense story is to puzzle the clues and being able to solve the mystery. Haneke did an admirable job of tossing clues and false trails on the viewer. The suspense is amazing, is like watching life unfold, moment by moment, in front of you.
It captivates because it is so real. The performances are amazingly alive, the dialogue was pure conversation. The film keeps you thinking and wondering, I was left just as confused and tense as the characters themselves. Pay close attention to the final shot, did it lead to unfold the story? Can someone please tell me?
