Review of Caché (2005) by Jamie D — 10 Jan 2010
Apparently this film racked up unbearable tension throughout. Maybe it misses something in the subtitles but we were too busy wondering what the hell was going on and how the main characters could possibly be so stupid. Other than one overly graphic scene tension didn't really come into it, though it did raise an unintentional laugh a few times, in between the streches of boredom.
After two hours waiting for some explanation to the nonsensical plot the film just ends! The last scene, a flashback which is shot like the video surveilance scenes in the film despite clearly not being one, is obviously meant to be some kind of reveal but gives no information you couldn't have guessed from about 30 minutes in.
Pretenscious, pointless and pretty lazy. Avoid.
