Another of Michael Haneke's exercises in ambiguity, this one following the reactions of married couple Georges and Anne upon receiving surveillance videotapes of their own home. Soon the tapes, which have no logical source, appear to point to a repressed incident from Georges' childhood.

Georges is certain he knows the source of the tapes, but no one (including the audience) agrees with his suspicions. The film ends with a shot that seems to provide new key information about the story, but even upon receiving the additional clue, we don't necessarily know what to do with it.

And that's the real beauty of "Cache.".
