A slow churning thriller from Michael Haneke that focuses on mysterious tapes and drawings that an upper class French family receives. Who is taping aspects of their life and sending it to them? The film is ambiguous as the work moves along.

I don't so much mind this in a movie but being that is about French guilt toward the treatment of Algerians, I would have expected the crux of the plot to be a little more serious than it was. The politik is very much muted by the personal situation that the film hints at but doesn't elaborate on.
