Review of Caché (2005) by D J — 17 Apr 2012
Seriously is this it???
A film that seems to have ripped-off it's initial idea from David Lynch's Lost Highway - mysterious stalker-type filmed videos are delievered to the protagonist's home but this film misses completely any of the fear, suspense, mind-bending ideas or paranoia of Lynch's masterpiece.
Cache (Hidden) goes nowhere very slowly. There's no fear element, nothing to hold onto and it delivers nothing more than a mess of unexplained trivial ideas.
And the non-ending will leave you thinking you've just had the last two hours of your time completely wasted. A totally unsatisfying piece of drivel.
Hidden, it appears, refers to the film's hidden lack of everything from ideas, story-telling and of course that totally defunct ending.
Don't waste your time on this piece of celluloid masturbation.
