Review of Caché (2005) by Richard H — 29 Dec 2009
Don't get as excited as I did before watching this movie, the concept is good and the acting too but there's a big problem for me, and that is what attracts me to movies like this is I try to work out the movie throughout then at the end find out how close or far away I am.
Usually the best of these films keep you hanging on and then everything brilliantly fits into place and everything adds up. Well if you are like me be ready for a huge disappointment because its just all left hanging in the air, there might have well been levitating chipmunks because if you do not need to show to the viewer how someone got into an apartment and set a video camera up to record a visit that could take place at any time providing the address was found by the victim and in the meantime wouldn't be found by the flat owner then where is the line drawn? The 'victim' walks to where the camera is clearly filming from every day several times and does not once try to find it - maybe I expected too much, but there is one thing good to come out of this, I still do not belong with those arty farty lot who are doing cartwheels over this piece of 'genius'.
I'd sooner have my teeth pulled without anesthetic and will be suing the director for he hour and a half of my life back!
