Review of Cabin Boy (1994) by Sheila E — 02 Aug 2008
Cabin Boy is a very funny and strange movie that only a few people will appreciate. I watched this when I was around 11 years old on HBO. In later years, I kept thinking about certain moments and tried to place them.
Finally, a friend of my brother's came and brought the movie with him. I watched it and was so happy to see it again. It was even funnier than it was when I was a kid, because it is so ridiculous and clever that I caught more of the jokes.
Chris Elliott is so perfect for this role, and goes from a snotty and elitest Fancy Lad to a doting and pitiful Cabin Boy. It is a great movie for those interested in off-the-wall humor and silliness.
