Review of Cabin Boy (1994) by Brett K — 08 Sep 2009
This movie certainly gets off to an interesting start. Produced by Tim Burton, it feels very much like Pee Wee's big adventure at first, minus the creepiness. It's worth a few chuckles. The story isn't terribly bad, and it even starts to follow the hero's journey to a degree.
It's a right of passage story, with Christ Elliot as the leading character. For me, it wasn't a bad movie until the end where it broke apart. It is almost unique in what it does until the ending where it does a cookie cutter ending.
Not the best movie, but as I said, worth a few chuckles.
