Review of Cabaret (1993) by Kaity J — 14 Nov 2007
Probably the most artistic of the movie musicals that I've seen. I love how the theratical musical numbers run parallel with the darker side of what is happening in Germany just prior to the Nazi takeover.
After watching it you are left with this errie feeling. It's not really anything like the stage version, but I think Bob Fosse did a wonderful job with this film visually. Some of the shots were just beautiful.
And of course, there's Liza doing what she does best...being an amazing performer.
