Review of Cabaret (1981) by Martin K — 20 Dec 2007
A Shakespearean-style tragedy set in 1930's Germany, this great love 'em and lose 'em story takes place with the shadow of the Nazi party taking over every aspect of German life. The characters are very, very human and very, very flawed, and they behave in predictably self-destructive ways - even though you might scream at them not to.
The music is catchy and singable, and the dancing is amazing. Recommended, although it is difficult to watch at places.
