Review of Cabaret (1981) by Chrissy D — 06 Jun 2009
Cabaret is the greatest adaption of a stage musical. It isn't a musical, but a movie with music in it. It has reason for why the songs are sung. Fosse's vision of how a sleezy nightclub can be compared to the real and raw world of the Nazis is marvelous! The performances are excellent.
Liza and Joel continously carry along the story with brillant acting and singing... along with Micheal York and the others. But the real genious behind this movie is... Bob Fosse.
