Review of Cabaret (1981) by Alexander P — 05 Dec 2011
There're three things going on here: you have the whole spiel of the burgeoning Nazi party which is a bit underplayed; then there's the musical sequences, which are fantastic; finally you have Liza's personal soap opera life which is exactly that.
It's watchable, but I'm surprised it won a million oscars.
