Somehow every version of the story, while each very different, is equally as wonderful. I highly reccomend the novel(s) The Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood, upon which the stage play, the movie, the straight play (no music) I am a Camera, and the studio 54 revival are all based.

The novel is really based on Christopher's time in Germany.
