A classy, sassy, and energetic classic. It's well choreographed and features an unforgettable Liza Minnelli. The music is catchy and it chronicles a fascinating period of history. There's something surreal and very unsettling about watching men in Nazi uniforms hanging around a bar so full of the types of characters Hitler would pursue vigorously only a few years later.

Beyond that, this was a somewhat daring motion picture for the times. In many ways, it helped herald in the sexual boundary breaking which would be witnessed time and again in the 1970s. An important piece of LGBT cinema, and cinema in general.
