Review of Cabaret (1972) by Rosemary L — 25 Jan 2010
Had to wait until the peops at work advised that the reason the Catherine Zeta Jones film is so different from the Liza Minelli film is because they are totally different films! One is called Chicago and the other is called Cabaret!
So I watched Cabaret and absolutely loved it! It gets a 4 just cos it is dated. Liza is great as the wanna be 'great' actress and Michael York is perfectly typecast as the alternative love interest. A happy ending? It so could have been for the viewer. Instead all charcters actually get what they want and I guess this is called life...
