Review of Cabaret (1972) by Becky T — 28 Nov 2008
Doomed romance mirrors a doomed society and culture in a Berlin split between tacky entertainment (the songs are still superbly sung by Minelli and Grey) and the degradations of surging anti-Semitism. The scene with German youth singing "Tomorrow belongs to me" is a knockout.
