Review of Byzantium (2013) by Sarah A — 18 Aug 2013

2.75*/5 --- Expectations were high as I've waited over 1+ year to see this. Both actresses I like, Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan are great in their dark roles as mother/daughter vampires [not the kind we're used to seeing]. Both women are on the run and must follow certain rules to live. Background character histories are flashbacks from the present and span centuries, somewhat tedious but performances are worthy! Both have been on my list of To-Watch for awhile. Latter half of the film picks up...definitely not the film for everyone, most will probably hate it.

*Might've been higher if I didn't have a migraine. Oh well. "I'm only a human being." ;).
