The movie isn't without its problems, but it is a darn compelling vampire film that gets deeper than feeding on blood: relationships. Mother to daughter, life to death, and even loyalty to disloyalty.
There were some eye-roll moments, but overall the atmosphere and slow puzzle of the story coming together made for an enjoyable experience.
