Review of Butterfly on a Wheel (2007) by Scott M — 12 Jun 2008
Pierce Brosnan has surprised me with his range over the past few years, but this movie can not be added to his list of accolades. Sadly this is a second-rate thriller with second-rate (or worse) performances. Gerard Butler gives a worse performance than he did in 300, and the final twist of the movie is pretty stupid (it was an ok twist, but the way they handled flashbacks to prove the twist worked was stupid). Brosnan's reasons seem mysterious at first, and intriguing, but the end result of why he's doing what he's doing doesn't make sense because if it was just jealousy, he probably wouldn't be able to be as collected as he is doing everything he does.
I guess this explains why it didn't get a big release in the US.
