Review of Butterfly (1982) by Dave R — 01 Mar 2012
I thought i'd give this a try because it's based on a book written by a noir legend, james m. cain, who wrote "double indemnity" and "the postman always rings twice". and it also stars a noir legend, orson welles. but this twisted tale is cast wrong and filmed wrong. it lacks any depth and the director just fails to capture any real mood. I think the choice of locations - different from the book - ruins the film a bit.
Waste of time really.
