Review of Butterflies Are Free (1972) by David M — 08 Jan 2008
Theres a simplicity and tenderness in the performances juxtaposed with the bleaker realities of life and the situations in this particular stage adaption which make this film a real gem! Funny; 'Sleuth' , was also an play and is pretty much my favourite movie.
.. what is it about stage adaptations that make them sometimes SO effective, I wonder? If you haven't yet seen 'Butterflies', do so without delay. You'll hopefully be suitably touched.
