Review of Butterflies Are Free (1972) by Scot C — 24 Jan 2011
Goldie Hawn was so damn cute when she was young. And what a good actress as well. I can see why she was so in demand in Hollywood for so long. This clearly isnt a very commercial film, and i'm pretty sure it wasnt back in 1972 either.
But a really good character driven story, about two very different people finding a common ground. Edward Albert plays blind as good as Al Pacino in 'Scent Of A Woman'. He's attention to detail in his performance, with the surroundings of his character are perfect.
This film has no frills, and I guess it depends on one's mood of how an audience would react to this movie. I think its quite personal in a way, and i'm sure many people can relate to these three main characters (Including the mother).
And in my opinion, there is no point trapping a butterfly, they're free.
