Review of Butter (2012) by Olivia C — 04 Nov 2012
This could have been a really cute movie if it hadn't been so intent on making anti conservative and anti christian messages. I expected the propaganda against republican women, but was taken aback by the ugly attacks on Christians in general. The bad guys of the movie were all Christian and home schoolers were portrayed in an inaccurate and negative light.
On the positive side, the young girl in this movie is adorable and makes a good case for adopting foster children. Her adopted dad is also a positive role model for fathers. The butter sculptures were really cool and I thought it was an interesting and unique movie topic.
There were some really funny moments in the movie and it was well done. You really hated the bad people and cheered for the orphan. Unfortunately, the negative messages distracted from the story.
