Review of Butter (2012) by Mckinney W — 06 Jun 2013

Butter has its moments of hilarity - as well as a huge, talented cast - but it's run down by the obvious turns its plot took. I was able to predict practically every little twist that came about, which was a little sad since I was hoping for the plot take a new and exciting direction at some point.

However, despite its cliche plot, I thought the writing was still quite witty and Yara Shahidi did an excellent job as the young Destiny; she definitely holds her own when sharing the screen with Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde, and the rest of the talented cast.

Can't say Butter is a terrible movie - it just isn't - but it's only a moderately satisfying one and not quite as special as it could have been.
